NUR 117 - Fundamentals of Nursing (6-7*) Prerequisite: BIO 103 & BIO 105 with grades of “B” or higher or completion of BIO 258 & BIO 259 with grades of “C” or higher, COM 100 , ENG 103 , & PSY 102 with grades of “C” or higher fall, spring
Lecture: Four and a half hours of lecture/discussion per week. Lab: Three and a half hours of lab per week.
Designed to develop nursing and communication skills to enable the student to administer care to adult clients within the scope of the beginning nurse. Introduces fundamental concepts of nursing, including the nursing process and the promotion of wellness and health maintenance through patient education. Concurrent clinical and laboratory experience designed to give the student the opportunity to utilize the nursing process and develop fundamental level expertise in nursing skills. Four hours of clinical per week.
