AS 120 - Associate in Science   Requirements

Associate in Engineering Science Degree (A.E.S)

The A.E.S. degree prepares students to transfer as juniors into engineering programs, requiring a minimum of 64 credit hours. Admission to engineering schools is competitive, and completing the degree does not guarantee acceptance. Most programs require a minimum grade of “C” for courses to count. Students should choose their engineering specialty and transfer school by early sophomore year and meet with an advisor since course requirements vary.

The A.E.S. does not meet Illinois Articulation Agreement (IAI) general education requirements and does not fulfill A.A. or A.S. degree requirements. Transfer students must complete general education courses required by their chosen institution.

AES 140 - Associate in Engineering Science  Requirements

Associate in Fine Arts - Art (A.F.A)

Students planning to transfer as a junior into a B.F.A. Art program should follow degree requirements with an advisor. The A.F.A. does not meet IAI general education requirements and does not fulfill A.A. or A.S. degree requirements. Transfer students must complete the general education requirements of their chosen institution.

General Education Core Curriculum Credential (GECC Credential)

The GECC Credential consists of a minimum of 37 credit hours in core areas-communications, math, sciences, social sciences, and humanities/fine arts-and provides a smooth transfer to participating associate or bachelor’s programs. It is not a workforce or industry credential. All GECC courses are Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI)-approved general education courses.
