ABE 030 - Automotive Diesel Bridge (3)

Lecture: 3 hours of lecture/discussion per week.

Automotive -Diesel Bridge course is designed to incorporate contextualized occupation-specific basic skills curricula needed to prepare for high school equivalency (HSE) exams and successfully transition to the Automotive and Diesel courses, certification, and/or postsecondary education. Three core elements are required as part of bridge programs 1) contextualized instruction in basic reading, math, language skills, science, social studies, and industry/ occupation knowledge; 2) workforce preparation including language, soft skills, career readiness, and career planning; 3) transition services to help navigate postsecondary and/or job placement. This course will serve English language learners level 5 or higher and adult basic learners level 4 or higher. This course may be offered in the following formats: Classroom, Synchronous face to face, or Hybrid/online. This course offers a minimum of 45hours bridge instruction. Repeatable three times
