DPT 279 - Advanced Diesels (3) Prerequisite: DPT 177 fall
Lecture: 2 hours of lecture/discussion per week. Lab: 2 hours of lab per week.
This course is a study of modern fuel injection and emission control systems commonly found in light, medium and, heavy duty vehicles and equipment. Emphasis will be placed on diesel fuel systems but other fuel/energy systems will also be covered. Students will use a variety of diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot, diagnose and, repair wiring faults, sensors, actuators and controllers across a variety of manufacturers products. It is highly recommended to successfully complete DPT 173 before enrolling in this class.
